SEATTLE - May 3, 2005 - Express Metrix today announced the availability of Express Software Manager Professional, the company's powerful IT asset management software tool that integrates software license inventory, application usage data, application control, hardware inventory and comprehensive reporting (both web-based and Crystal-generated reports) into a single interface. Express Software Manager Professional takes advantage of the latest Microsoft .NET framework technology to provide business customers with an easy-to-deploy discovery tool that enables them to more effectively manage their IT assets.
Available immediately through Express Metrix, Express Software Manager Professional is designed to lower IT costs and make IT administrators' jobs easier by providing the basis for strategic management of IT assets. The new version underscores the critical role of complete and accurate licensing and usage data in IT decision-making by offering the industry's most comprehensive and customizable reporting features.

The following features have been added to Express Software Manager Professional:
Application Control —IT administrators can prevent applications from launching based on authorized users/machines or licenses available for concurrent applications.
License Allocation —Organizations can allocate software licenses to specific departments or organizations depending on user need or for managing concurrent licensed applications.
Custom Hardware Information— IT administrators can create custom machine attributes to associate specific hardware data such as lease information, computer location, employee identification number, etc. to each machine.
Custom Hardware Information Import —IT administrators can import into Express Software Manager Professional Microsoft Excel spreadsheets that contain custom machine attribute information.
Web Report Filters —IT managers and purchasing managers can now generate Web or Crystal-based reports using any filter created in the Express Software Manager Reports Console.

Pricing and Availability
Express Software Manager Professional is available today through Express Metrix and its international distribution network. Entry-level pricing for Express Software Manager Professional is $45, which includes a 20 percent first-year maintenance fee for future product upgrades, updates to the Express Software Identification Database, and ongoing access to the company's superior technical support. Existing Express Software Manager customers who have current maintenance agreements receive the upgrade to Express Software Manager Professional at no charge.
