Software Inventory Tools
A software inventory tool automates the process of identifying and classifying all of the software installed on computers across an organization. Typically, such tools identify software file information such as name, product ID, size, date, path, and version, and whether any particular software installation is standalone or part of a suite. Ideally, administrators can also import licensing details, which are then automatically reconciled with collected software inventory data in order to determine license compliance status. An automated software inventory tool should provide a series of useful reports, and enable you to repeat the inventory at regular intervals or pre-scheduled times.
