Five Things You Didn’t Know About Express Metrix
As we turn our sights toward 2012, I wanted to take a brief moment to thank all our customers, both new and old, for their trust and loyalty. Those who’ve used our software for an extended period of time know we are deeply committed to listening to our customers and evolving our IT asset management offerings in ways that help make their jobs easier. We also take enormous pride in the quality of our customer service, both within the sales and technical support departments. Where else can you speak directly to a developer about a custom report you need or have more than a reasonably good chance of speaking to a live person when you run into technical issues?
While these are areas our customers experience on a day-to-day basis, I thought it would be fun to highlight a few other aspects of our corporate culture that you’re probably not aware of that will make you feel additionally good about doing business with Express Metrix!
For example, did you know that:
1) The average employee has been with Express Metrix for over seven years. This likely has to do in part with the premium benefits offered to employees in terms of health insurance, vacation time, flexible work schedules, health club subsidies, opportunities to telecommute, and other perks. The stated goal of the company’s founders is to hire great employees, treat them well, and give them room to do their jobs.
2) Express Metrix matches 100% of all employee charitable donations up to an unlimited amount. We’ve even run programs where we’ve matched our customers donations (for example to the Haiti earthquake relief effort).
3) Express Metrix encourages its employees to find healthier (and more sustainable) alternatives to the car for getting to and from work. In fact, Express Metrix’s three co-founders bike a combined daily total of 50 miles round trip! A few other facts:
- Employees get reimbursed $500 if they purchase a bike
- Our office space was retrofitted to include a shower/locker room
- 50% of employees participate in Seattle’s annual Bike to Work month
4) Instead of sending holiday cards to our customers and partners through the mail, we now send e-cards; the money saved on cards and postage is donated to UNICEF’s safe drinking water program.
5) Our holiday giving tree benefiting a local charity garners 100 percent participation among employees every year.
I personally feel that when a company values its employees, and its employees value the community in which they reside, it’s more likely that a culture will evolve in which those we do business with are also highly valued. Hopefully you feel you’ve been well served by Express Metrix over the years, and we look forward to the opportunity to earn your business well into the future!
