History
In 1992, Express Systems was established by a former Microsoft employee who recognized the potential for companies to save significant amounts of money by tracking application usage and evaluating the cost benefits of concurrent software licensing. At this time, there was little competition for such a product, and sales grew quickly. In 1996, WRQ Inc. (now Attachmate) acquired the technology to diversify their terminal emulation product line. After adding software inventory to the application metering capabilities, WRQ managers recognized the opportunity to position the product as a "Y2K" solution that enabled IT professionals to determine whether their desktops and associated software were prepared for the "Millennium Bug." After Y2K passed, a group of long-time WRQ employees purchased the Express product line and founded Express Metrix, LLC.
Express Metrix recently released Version 9.0 of its flagship product, Express Software Manager.
