2006 ENDS IN ANOTHER GROUNDBREAKING YEAR FOR EXPRESS METRIX

Seattle-based IT Asset Management Company Celebrates Strong Growth and Record Sales

Seattle, WA - Express Metrix®, a leader in IT asset management solutions, finished a successful 2006 with significant revenue growth, an impressive new product launch, and continued leadership in the IT Asset Management (ITAM) marketplace. This landmark year culminated with overall growth of nearly 15 percent and the highest annual revenue in the history of the company. New customers included the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. House of Representatives, Lockheed Martin, Symantec, Audi Volkswagen, City & County of San Francisco and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont.

The company's growth in 2006 can be attributed in part to an overall increased recognition in the marketplace of the importance of ITAM tools — particularly PC inventory and license management products — in protecting organizations from fiscal and IT hardships. Organizations turned to Express Metrix in 2006 to provide visibility and control over their IT assets in order to avoid license compliance violations, limit unnecessary software expenditures, protect sensitive applications and data from unauthorized access, and assist with technology migration planning.

Kris Barker, Express Metrix CEO, noted, "Aside from favorable market conditions, much of our success this year is due to the introduction of Express Software Manager Professional 7.6, an updated version of our flagship product. The strength of this product contributed not only to our high revenue growth, but also to an 81 percent customer maintenance renewal rate."

Barker also noted that a considerable portion of its growth came from OEM partners such as BMC and New Boundary that license various components of Express Metrix's technology — most notably its software.identification database — for use in their own ITAM product offerings. The Express Software Identification Database (ESID)™ provides the underlying technology that enables Express Metrix and its OEM partners' products to "recognize" software titles and versions installed across their customers' environments. The ESID's methodology and algorhithms for identifying and grouping applications are known throughout the industry for their accuracy and comprehensiveness, giving customers a high degree of confidence in their ability to make wise decisions based on collected inventory and usage data.

In another 2006 achievement, Express Metrix was the only U.S. company to be recognized as a finalist for the Microsoft "Technology Innovation Partner of the Year", a prestigious global award they in fact earned in 2005. One of only five finalists worldwide, Express Metrix was a finalist in the Licensing Solutions category for the second consecutive year.

Other highlights from 2006 included certification of Express Metrix's products by the principal ITAM industry bodies: the Software Information Industry Association (SIIA), the Business Software Alliance (BSA) and ECPWeb. Additionally, Express Metrix continued its ongoing support and involvement as a founding member of the International Business Software Managers Association (IBSMA) and a member of the International Association of Information Technology Asset Managers (IAITAM). Further demonstrating Express Metrix's dedication to assisting organizations with ITAM best practices, CEO Kris Barker is contributing to the development of ISO Standard 19770, which will establish international guidelines for certification, audits and enforcement of software asset management (SAM) policies.

Looking forward to 2007, Barker expects that upgrading to the Microsoft Vista operating system will be a primary concern for new and existing customers, and will drive significant revenue for the company. Express Metrix tools are a critical first step for determining if an organization is prepared to migrate to Vista by allowing IT staff to obtain a thorough understanding of hardware capabilities across the PC environment, as well as identify software installations known to be incompatible with Vista.
