Seattle, WA — Express Metrix today announced it has OEMed its industry-leading database of software titles to another world-class asset management technology provider: Numara Software. The data will deliver superior application identification capabilities to the Numara Asset Management Platform, a portfolio of IT asset management solutions used to centralize, automate, and control the critical tasks associated with server and desktop management challenges.
The Express Software Identification Database (ESID)® reflects the diverse range of commercial software installed on the desktops of tens of thousands of corporate and public sector organizations. The catalog has been under continual development for over 15 years, utilizing data contributed not only by Express Metrix's own customers, but also the customers of its OEM partners—making it the most comprehensive database of its kind. The information comprising the ESID enables providers of IT asset management solutions to ensure their own customers can properly identify the software installed and used across their networks. Without accurate software identification, IT departments struggle to ensure compliance with license agreements and optimize the lifecycle of their software investments.
Unique attributes of the ESID include its ability to accurately differentiate among product versions, editions, and suites—critical distinctions that frustrate and elude organizations utilizing alternative methods of application identification.
