Evaluation Wizard

Once you have completed installation, launch the Express Administrative Console from the Express Software Manager folder in the Start | Programs menu. The Administrative Console will connect to the Express Server and automatically launch the Evaluation Wizard. The wizard is designed to quickly get you started on your evaluation by automatically conducting an inventory and collecting usage information on your local workstation.

The wizard will:

  • Discover machines on your domain for future client installation.
  • Install the Express Client on your local workstation.
  • Conduct an inventory of your local workstation and reconcile the file information collected with data in the Express Software Identification Database to create license units representing installed software.
  • Prompt you to select the software applications that you would like to meter or collect usage data from.
  • Prompt you to run some of the selected applications to generate usage data.
  • Prompt you to view web and Crystal-based reports showing you examples of how Express data is presented.
To run the wizard, click Next when prompted. The wizard will automatically complete the tasks described above. Continue to click Next as prompted.
