The Express Software Identification Database (ESID)® is a key component of Express Metrix products, providing a means of recognizing and analyzing the software installed and used across your network, a critical capability when it comes to thoroughly understanding your license position.
The ESID is widely recognized to be the most comprehensive and accurate software identification methodology available, which is why world-class technology companies such as IBM, LANDesk, Numara Software, New Boundary, and others license the ESID for use within their own software license management solutions.
The ESID included in the Express Software Manager evaluation is the version that shipped with the product in November, 2010. This version will allow Express Software Manager to recognize the majority of software applications and associated files; however, it may not recognize the most recent product releases from software manufacturers.
